Ashbridges Bay Beach Volleyball

Just a few friendly reminders:
- There will be no League matches from Friday, Sep 3^rd to Wednesday, Sep 8^th.
- Play resumes on Thursday, Sep 9^th for the Thursday Night Play-offs followed by Friday Night Play-offs on Sep 10^th.
- Friday, Sep 10th will be the last day of play for the 2010 Summer League Season.

Prizing Ceremony and After Party:

Prizes for winning teams for all divisions will be handed out at the OVA tent adjacent to south side of the Boardwalk Cafe. Teams will also have a chance to get their pictures taken and these will later be posted at the website.

The Boardwalk Cafe will section off a private area for league members. There will be SPECIAL PRICING on BEVERAGES AND MEALS FOR all league members. All league participants are welcome to join.

As beach volleyball is an outdoor sport, we have to let you know that ALL OF OUR BEACH LEAGUES WILL RUN RAIN, SHINE OR WIND. Only in EXTREME EXCEPTIONAL and unpredicted weather circumstances will we not run our leagues. Cancellations will occur on-site (e.g. lightning). On extreme weather days, please feel free to call our weather hotline at (416) 426-7300, the line will be updated at 4:30 pm only if play is cancelled. If you do not hear a game cancellation message, kindly proceed to the beach.  Please do not leave a message asking to be called back about play for that night. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Refund and weather policies have now been posted, the remaining policies are in the process of being updated and should be available shortly.

To all summer teams preparing for the start of the season next week:

• Schedules will be available for your first night of play on the beach when you arrive to play, they are not available online beforehand.
• If this is your first time playing at Ashbridges Bay, there will be a control tent set up on the beach where coordinators will be holding meetings prior to your first games – location is in front of courts 23 & 32.
• Please note games start at 6:45pm as noted on the schedule page under the league info section of this website; season announcements will happen BEFORE this time.
• Please remember to bring your waiver forms to the beach, all players are required to complete one – these are available on the registration page of this website.

A few reminders for the upcoming Summer Season:

• All players must hand in their waiver forms when they arrive on their first night of play.
• All games begin at 6:45pm, please arrive early for announcements and updates.
• Individuals will be provided with team information and schedule.
• Games will run rain or shine.

Parking enforcement has begun at Ashbridges Bay:
Rates start at $3.00 from 5:00pm – 9:00pm each week day

WELCOME to the information site for the OVA’s Ashbridges Beach Volleyball Leagues for the spring and summer sessions of 2010.

We have received lots of questions and feedback and a ton of congratulations on being awarded the contract by the City of Toronto to deliver adult recreational and youth programs at Ashbridges Bay Park and Woodbine Beach.

We’re offering the same levels of competition and format that adults have become accustomed to playing at Ashbridges — along with a new division — Mixed 4’s requiring only one female playing at all times.

NEW, starting in 2010, we are pleased to announce that all teams will be playing with the official, international Beach Volleyball from Mikasa.

We are also offering a Grand Opening Discount of $100 to all teams of 4’s and 6’s in the spring session and for summer teams who register early.

So take a look around the site. Schedules page will provide you with all of the details that you need to know to get you started. If you’re a team captain familiarize yourself with the rules and policies. Register early and reap the rewards.
